Our Story
Building the future of AI innovation, one hack at a time
The Beginning
Founded in January 2024, Sundai emerged from a simple yet powerful idea: to create a space where innovators could rapidly prototype and hack AI applications. The foundation was laid by four visionaries from MIT and Harvard: Dr. Serge Vasylechko, a Harvard AI researcher; Leandra Tejedor, recognized in Forbes 30 under 30; Artem Lukoianov, an MIT CSAIL researcher; and Gabriela Torres Vives, a community builder. What started as their goal to build 12 projects in 12 weeks quickly evolved into something much bigger.United by their shared frustration with rapidly changing technology and inspired by emerging market opportunities, these founders created a unique environment where innovation could thrive. The response from the Cambridge community was unprecedented. In just 9 months, we've grown from their initial small group of builders to a thriving community of over 1,100 members, united by our passion for AI innovation and rapid development. Our Philosophy
At Sundai, we believe that learning to use AI tools is one of the most fundamental skills for the future. The term "10x developer" is no longer a myth - it's achievable through mastery of AI tools and rapid prototyping techniques.
Our motto, "rapid prototyping with AI," reflects our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. We've witnessed firsthand how AI transforms our ability to deliver impactful applications, and we're dedicated to sharing these capabilities with others.
Community Impact
Our community has become a powerhouse of innovation, with 30-40 regular members meeting weekly to develop AI applications. Through 45 hackathons, we've launched over 75 products and built expertise in technologies like Stable Diffusion, LLM fine-tuning, and full-stack development.
Our impact extends beyond just building products. We've created a thriving ecosystem where researchers, founders, and developers come together to learn, build, and grow. Our WhatsApp group "MIT AI Hacks" has become a hub for technical discussions and collaboration, connecting over 650 members.
Education & Innovation
We're committed to sharing our knowledge and experience. Through our MIT IAP course "How to Ship Almost Anything with AI" and various workshops, we're helping others master the art of rapid prototyping with AI.
Our infrastructure supports innovation at every level - from automated market analysis tools to deployment platforms, we're building the foundation for the next generation of AI hackers.
